I have no idea how those technical terms work and wat they mean could some one explain it and hwo to make the best adjustments to make my sub run the best from a 1000 w 2 channel amplifier i have 2 800W subs Replies (2) uochronos on 01/11/2004 22:56:04 well specs/brand/model on amp and subs well help us here get the best setting for your particular set up... a quick once over would be this though Ohm's is the resistance.. 2 ohms of resistance well let your amp put out around twice the power as running your amp at 4 ohms... your amp is a 2 channel amp so its probaly stable at 2 ohms and 4 ohms if you use the channels seperatly and stable at 4 ohms only if bridged to put out the max power... we well need to know the amp model to tell you exactly for your amp though... RMS is how much your amp puts out continously for instance some amp companies rate there amps in Max power not RMS so a 1000watt amp may put that out RMS(continously) or Max(only in peak moments) so the RMS is what you should be looking at since thats what your amp can do all the time. not just at extreme moments. and RCA's are the jack that you plug the wires in from the head unit to the amp... they carry the signal with the music on it. now RCA's unless your getting alot of static and distortion shouldnt matter for getting good performance to your system(so long they are hooked up).. Now like i said in the begining we cant tell you how to best tune your system for peak performance without knowing more about your set up... for instance 2 800watt subs tells us very little are they single or dual voice coils... what ohms... is the 800watts rms or peak. and so on if you just give use the make of your amplifier, speakers, and your head unit(HU) we can much better be able to help you. also check out the DIY articles there is alot of helpfull stuff to read there. ttocs on 01/12/2004 11:07:29 keep the Q's commin....
