No power to car stereo

Recently I was going to sell my car and the man who was going to buy it removed my head unit. I ended up not selling the car, but when I put the head unit back in the car, it did not get any power. There is no power whether the car is off or running. At the same time, my car clock appears very dim and resets itself every time I turn the car off. I have checked the fuses and they appear to be fine. What could be causing my stereo power problem? Is this related to my car clock?

which fuses did you check? Normally there are two sets, one inside the car, one under the hood. Did you check the fuses that you thought related to the clock and radio, or did you check ALL the fuses? Check all the fuses as often they will add the clock or radio onto a different circuit and not label it.
