Hello! Does anyone here have any exsperience with Clarion Subwoofers? I have a friend that was looking at the 15's SRW3881 15" Subwoofer w/ dual 4ohm voice coils - 300 watts RMS Could anyone give me some oponions on these sub woofers? I have had heard plenty of good on their HU's and their full range speakers but nothing of the subwoofers. Googlit - SRW3881 thanks Replies (2) compvr15s on 01/9/2004 08:08:04 300 watts rms seems pretty low for a 15inch sub. what is the price on the sub, if the price is right and hes is not lookin for a high spl system they may be ok, but we can direct him in better directions. what price range does he have, what amp does he have to power it, what music does he like, what type of box will it be in, what type of vehicle(trunk, hatchback, truck, suv) fill this out and maybe we can help more. Jarrod on 01/11/2004 08:53:26 A mate has a pair of Clarion 12" subwoofers in a sealed box powered by a Clarion amp (sorry cant remember model numbers so ill speak about Clarion in general terms). To me the sound isnt bad, they thump pretty hard and loud, but they are a bit of a one trick pony in that respect, smoother more complex bass seems a bit beyond them and ive heard them ground out when they really shouldnt, much to my mates embarrassment. Considering they were each similarily priced to my JL 12W0 i cant really say id reccommend them. Overall they arent at all a bad product, but you might be able to do better for the money. OH by the way, thatks for the advice everyone who gave some to me recently when i was looking for a sub / amp. I went with a single JL 12WO powered by the rear channels of my MTX 4 channel amp. ANd ive gotta say the sound is good, really good. Not the loudest thing youll hear, but punchy high quality bass that suits my tastes very nicely. By the way ive got a severely cashed up friend considering buying herself a sound system for her civic soon, so ill probably ask your guys help in designing her a money (almost) no object system. should be fun.
