Hey, I have a BAZOOKA EL1500 MONO 600 Watt (500w RMSx1 with a 2 ohm load) Amplifier and right now I'm using with 2 sony xplod 10" subs that are rated at 250w RMS each. They are in an MTX thunderform custom box for a dodge dakota. I plan on upgrading, but don't want to spend a lot. I'm not going to be in any competitions, but I like loud, punchy/clean bass (also get addicted to deaper bass, but I figgure loud punch is a little better than deap for me). I don't plan on getting rid of the thunderform box whos dimensions are: Enclosure Volume-1.8ft Dimensions-8.25"x57.5"x19.5" MTX recommends using a speaker designed for an enclosure with a volume of between 0.5 and 1.0 cubic feet. Overall I'm looking for more power than what I already have (the amp is rated for 500w RMS at 14.5v). My HU has a built in crossover in it for both subs and other speakers. Space for the amp isn't a problem since I put it on the floor behind my seat. I guess you'll want an approximate amt. of money I want to spend, so I'd say around...$300-$400 for both the amp and 2 10" subs? Maybe less if possible (ebay). Any suggestions? BTW, I already have a 4 guage power cable going to a dist block, and an 8 guage wire going to my sub amp. Replies (5) Munchiesyumm on 01/8/2004 21:20:19 SQL system! I've seen some good posts about that amp and the alpine subs, so I think I'll go with them. I'll probably be able to get them in a month or so. Thanks again! I didn't know that they were the same as the Alpine SWR-1041D that you recomended to me untill I searched for them online :-) Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
