| 5 channel ampby compvr15s Front Page * FAQ Forum * Archive Index Prev :: Nextcan you guys list off a few reasonalbly priced($350 or less) 5 channel amps. my neighbor has a mustang gt running jl comps for front and alpine 6X9s in the back and just a single 10 inch alpine ina bandpass box for bass. he had a v12 alpine from last year but he put that in his f150 and now alpine dont make that amp anymore and their new 5ch is like 600dollars or sumtin i think. looking for good realiable and kinda well know amp. the 5th channel only needs like 200 or 250 watts cuz i think the sub only handels 300s but not sure.any suggestions are greatly appreciated thax nx Replies (1) Swez on 04/24/2003 17:41:57 Personally the cost of the 5 channel amp is a hurdle that most cannot deal with. Also, If one section of ther amp goes down and needs repairs, the whole amp has to come out and you have no audio until the amp come back. In some cases, that could be weeks of waiting. A good 4 channel for the interiors and a decent Mono amp for the sub is a preferred choice. Can always upgrade to a larger sub amp is he so chooses too. In all, he can get both amps for under $400.00 plus wiring and not have to suffer a small sub amp and high cost for a typical 5 channel amp. They just don't add up for most guys. Swez |
