Whats wrong with my system?

Ok guys, I just bought about 300 bucks worth of audio equipment for my truck (most is uninstalled still). The one thing that is installed is my JVC 45x4 CD player. I hooked it up forgetting that i still had a stock speaker wire touching the frame. I started driving and I hit a small bumb and the speaker output suddenly stopped. Out of the corned of my eye I saw sparks from the wire touching the metal frame. My head unit lights up and plays but the speakers don't put out. Are they fried? I tried hooking up another speaker to one of the wires and its a no go on sound. What happend? What do I have to do to fix it? How much to repair? Thanks for ur time.

I am sure something has shorted out but I will let one of the golds let you know how to fix it.

There are a few things you can try.
1) completely disconnect all power to your HU (Head Unit-CD Player in this case), and the reconnect it and try it then.
2) some HUs have a reset button, try pressing that.

I don't think it is the speaker, it is something in the HU that hopefully went into safe mode. If these two things don't work, you may have done some damage to your HU internal amp. This may be repairable at little or no cost if it is under warranty. I do not know how to repair circuitry, and wouldn't advise it if it is under warranty.
