I have an idea for my space-cramped 87 BMW. Its a convertible, so it has a steel plate welded in behind the rear seat for stiffness. I'm going to go knee-deep on an installation, so that plate comes out, a box goes in the space, and a welded tubular bolt-in frame goes behind it to replace the steel plate. I could make false sides in the trunk to hide amps, but I'd rather use the spare tire well. Three amps totalling about 800wrms in a small space that is covered with carpet maybe isn't smart. If I use the spare tire well, it will have two problems. 1) the heat generated by the amps in a small space, and 2) BMW trunks tend to leak and they have drip holes in the spare tire well. I can picture the well staying pretty sweaty and damp. I thought about venting the well to the outside to get cooling air flowing, and making sure it drains well, but how can I make sure that it doesn't get too hot or too damp in there?
