Amps in my husband's car went out so we got him new system to install ourselves. Got the HU in and powered up, but having some trouble. Must remove Bose amps. Have removed back speakers and amps, but in installing new rear speakers I have found that I am not 100% sure which wire are speaker wires and which is the power to the amps. There are 2 sets. A red & black set that are thick. The other set is thinner and one has a colored stripe down it. My instincts are that the Red/Black wires are the power to the amp. If they are, then the other wire is the speaker wire. But, I don't know which is positive and which is negative.

you are correct, the red and black are the pwr wires. You can always use a voltmeter or test light if you are unsure.

best place to look would be on the back of the HU, if you used a wiring harness, just trace the + - wires for the rear channels from the HU and see what wires they connect to on the factory harness.
