Hello all. I have a 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis LS. It has the capability for a cd changer, but whenever I bought the car I didn't notice it was missing. The wires are already ran to the trunk of my car. What I was wondering if you guys could tell me where I should look for a good one that would be compatible with my factory radio, and where I could find some instructions on how it is suppose to be mounted in my trunk. I mean since there is suppose to be one back there, there should be some instructions somewhere on how to mount the thing.. Thanks guys.

Bad news is that it is completely proprietary. Only Ford CD changers will work. Since you still have the factory radio, though its as easy as calling a junkyard and set them on the search. It will plug in and work just as designed.

actually your local shop should sell a converter that would allow you to use a different changer. They normally go for $50-100 but this option is cheaper then the alternative of going with ford. Also check out e-bay. People sell them on there after they remove and replace them....

Another option... not cheap, is to buy an OEM drop in like the one I installed in my parents Lincoln. The factory uses 2 decks... one from Alpine and the other is Ford OEM. If you have the Ford OEM and it has a CD button on it, this one will work.

For Harness coversions to NON-OEM changers:

You can buy any of these for less off e-bay or doing a web search off google.com
