Thanks for the help so far on fibreglass vs MDF for sub enclosures and perspex windows in sub enclosures, my problem is the right equipment, I am currently running a Alpine CDA 7873R headunit, Precision power 6.5 components up front, JBL P62 2 way at rear. I have a Alpine ERA-G100 sound processor with DSP, 11 equalizer and crossovers to run from the AI lead - Would you install this item??? Next i have looked at lots of subs and amps, Not wanting to break the bank i have come up with the Alpine MRD M500 to run 2 Alpine SWR 1041D Subs (10") and either 2 Alpine MRV T320 amps to run both front and rear or 1 Alpine MRV T420 to run just the front. What do you guys think can i do better the budget for these items is around 900 USdollars, Taking into concideration that if i import from the US i will pay import tax @ 10%. Replies (1) Swez on 12/19/2003 22:57:49 Like Alpine huh?,,, For good reason too as they do make some very good gear. The MRD-500 nets out just under 500 watts RMS @ 2 ohms. The Type R subs can work with that as long as you get a net 2 ohms The 1041D subs are DVC (4+4). You'll need the 1021D (2+2 DVC here) Look here: http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-ZhtjOFgeMAn/ProdView.asp?s=0&c=10&g=67600&I=500SWR1021&o=m&a=0&cc=01&avf=N This is same price, same power but a pair in series/parallel of the 1021D is what you want here. Can get them cheaper than Crutchfield too. Just have to do some digging. (maybe $140.00/ea. elsewhere) As for powering the front and rear stages... how much power (RMS) can each speaker take... PPI and JBL noted? Swez PS Have a link to that DSP unit mentioned? I'd like to look it up before making any comments here. Copyright ClubKnowledge 2009 * All Rights Reserved |
