Hi all, new here, some great information on this site. I'm planning a new stereo setup for my custom 1963 ford fairlane. I currently have a pawn shop jensen amp and no name sealed ten" sub. I have a sony Xplod HU. I am considering the audiobahn A2150ACQ amp from http://www.cardiscountstereos.com/Catalog%20Page.asp?Product+%23=A2150HCQ. Anyone have experience with this amp, and or this website? I listen to hard rock, punk, primarily, but would like an all around system. What type of subwoofer enclosure would y'all recommend if i were to go with that amp? Also, in the course of doing a lot of work under the hood this winter, i will be relocating my battery to the trunk. What wire sizes should i go with for the various connections? My alternator is a powermaster one wire, not sure of the output. Any help is good help! thanks guys -joe Replies (1) cplkittle on 12/16/2003 12:19:40 I would go with a ported box due to the fact that you have a larger vehicle, and minimal loss of sound due to body expansion (they don't make them like they used to). It depends on what you want though. ported=low bass, sealed=tight punchy bass. with a 1200w amp, you could go both ways and do one sealed and one ported if you are interested in using 2 subs, which I assumed by looking at the amp. The only thing I would not recommend is a bandpass box, as they tend to sound better in open cabins (SUVs or vans). As for the amp, I would email them and ask them how they offer a one year warranty on a product made by Audiobahn, when Audiobahn themselves do not authorize internet dealers. (I called them myself about a month ago asking about becoming an authorized dealer). The one year warranty card that comes with all audiobahn products must be signed by an authorized dealer.
