Grounding your system effectively

A good ground is very important. If not sure you have it right, easy tip, will eliminate that issue in short order. Make sure you use the same gauge grounding wire as you have for the power line, from the battery.

To insure good grounding, locate a metal body panel, near the amp.

1. Sand off the paint, (to bare metal) the size of a quarter.
2. Using a #8x1" self-tapping sheet metal screw, run a hole into that bare site.
3. Now, attach appropriate sized eyelite or fork type crimp connector to your ground wire and secure to screw.
4. Smear a little grease or silcone on the bare spot, to prevent rust.
5. Now, connect the other end of the wire, to your amp grounding lug. Use crimp connector here as well. (best way to prevent accidental shorts and amp damage.
