Folks
You have to read Digital Designs website for that Gem. they are the Advanced Whist of transducer Archaeology!!!
Pinnacle might be the proper word...Pinochle...game of cards.
So
DD is
1. Taking Tricks
2. Arranging Marriages
3. Using Trump Cards
Like Woody Allen said about cards & lovemaking, if you don't have a good partner, you need a good hand.Reply Posted: 11/12/2009 12:52:20 by: ![]()

You bet... things are slow but considering the economy, what the hey!
Read the initial hype of the new DD sub designs and frankly, If most cannot understand it w/o a physics degree, it's usless info. The Alternate explanation is better and makes more sense to those with some degree of tech savvy about speaker technology.
Pinnacle means top of the curve and cutting edge technology. Pinocle is a card game. You'd think someone in the editing department would have caught that error and corrected it before publishing. Dinged for 20 points on the credibility scale in my books. (Bright guys on DD's R&D staff, sure... but sloppy on the details down the food chain?)

The first thing sounds like it was written for idiots, by idiots........
First, the mispelling, then the use of technical terms that sound entirely made up, as well as the dopey spec chart....... A sensitivity rating of "emo" (what, they cut themselves when they see a watt of power), seven Kilo-tones of magnetic power...... sounds like some bovine defecation to me....
This to me looks like an april fool's joke, or a shining example of how brands like Dual and Boss can lure in customers by throwing out a ton of technical gibberish that makes the "thinks he knows it all" diy guy's toes curl, and sell like mad...
I am under no circumstances believing that their incredibly awesome motor structure is to to spiders that were made by genetically altered spiders that produce a chemical blend of silk, polyethelyne and cotton.......
And what seems like maybe 10 nationwide dealers..... I have never heard of the brand before, but it looks like their marketing department isnt taking a very professional approach to things at all........Reply Posted: 11/13/2009 12:22:06 by: ![]()

Have you ever watched some of DD's videos? Some are very informative and most helpful to the mavin and serious student as well.
However, some video diaries are totally off the wall and spoofed with wierd acts of blowing off steam. I recall watching a few of their off the wall clips and think it's just their way of chilling out after a rough day, week or month. (Why not... their young and flying by the seat of their pants a lot)
Skip the hype and forget all the fancy claims they use as humor and such. They're just having some fun with words and high tech silliness. I can imagine a room full of guys eating pizza and drinking beers and just busting loose with any absured thought that comes to mind. Hey, that's a good way to let some steam out and maintain good morale in the troops. Why not! They've come a long way from where they started and some of their products are actually serious tools of the trade now.
In short, let them eat cake and enjoy the fun that comes after the stress and deadlines are met, (Or not?)

I just thought it was funny that pinnacle could be misspelled. Only a handful of non card players would know how to spell pinochle...yet even know it was improper usage.
You see a lot of markineering information coming from manufacturers. Some of what they put out is propaganda, some truly useful information.
I think we've come to a point where we've reached the pinnacle of speaker technology...either we come up with a totally different way of making vibrations or we're just going to spend more to get the same thing.
About 95% of innovations in the past 15 years have been to power handling and power making. SQ, although it hasn't gotten worse, hasn't improved a whole lot recently.Back to Tree
