Hey anyone that can help. I'm looking to buy a inexpensive amp to power the Infinity system that is in my 2006 Mitsu Montero Ltd. The factory amp cannot be used to power the system with aftermarket decks. I just bought a 2 DIN deck that has navigation and want to replace the stock infinity system but want to keep the quality sound output. I guess the subwoofer in the truck has to be rewired with an aftermarket amp. So I am hoping for suggestions on what type of amp to get. Or a specific amp that is inexpensive. Thank you!

If you have a sub in the trunk, consider a 5-6 channel amp to match the power of the Infinity speaker package in there now. (30-50 watts x 4 for the door speakers and maybe 100 watts for the sub.

Cheap huh? How 'bout Crunch. They are the low end budget version of the HiFonics/Maxxonics line and will do a decent job for a lo-lo budget:

thanks so much for the help. I know what to shop for now. A higher watt amp is good or unneccesary. Is 1000 watts enough?

I look at 3 things when considering the power of an amplifier:

1. The RMS wattage at 2 & 4 ohms per channel
2. The %THD distortion at rated power
3. The fuse rating value

If those all line up well, it'll get the job done.
